Abstract
With the advancement of technology, attendance management in various institutions has become increasingly vital to enhance efficiency and data accuracy. This study aims to design and develop an ESP8266-based attendance information system that automates and simplifies the attendance recording process in real-time. The system utilizes the ESP8266 module as the core component for wireless communication, connecting to a server via a Wi-Fi network. Attendance is recorded using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) integrated with ESP8266, allowing real-time data transmission and storage in a database. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Additionally, the system features a web-based user interface that enables easy monitoring and management of attendance data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. The results demonstrate that the ESP8266-based attendance system improves the efficiency of attendance management, minimizes manual errors, and provides quick and accurate access to attendance data. This system is expected to be implemented in various institutional environments to enhance overall attendance management systems and meet institutional needs effectively.
